          • Development Commissioner (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) (DCMSME): Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME) provides a wide spectrum of services to the Micro, Small and Medium Industrial sector. These include facilities for testing, toolmenting, training for entrepreneurship development, preparation of project and product profiles, technical and managerial consultancy, assistance for exports, pollution and energy audits etc. Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME) provides economic information services and advises Government in policy formulation for the promotion and development of SSIs. The field offices also work as effective links between the Central and the State Governments.
          • Khadi and Village Industries Commission - KVIC: It is an apex organization under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Govt. of India), with regard to khadi and village industries within India, which seeks to - plan, promote, facilitate, organise and assist in the establishment and development of khadi and village industries in the rural areas in coordination with other agencies engaged in rural development wherever necessary.
          • National Small Industries Corporation - NSIC: NSIC has reinforced its strength by building new competencies to serve the emerging needs of micro, small and medium enterprises in today's competitive environment. The company has created several innovative products to provide integrated support in terms of marketing, technology, credit and information to MSMEs.
          • Small Industries Development Bank of India - SIDBI: SIDBI is an independent financial institution aimed to aid the growth and development of micro, small and medium-scale enterprises in India. It was incorporated initially as a wholly owned subsidiary of Industrial Development Bank of India.
          Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Government of India)

          The Ministry of Commerce and Industry administers two departments, the Department of Commerce and the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion. The head of the Ministry is a Minister of Cabinet rank.

          • Department of Commerce: The department is entrusted with formulating and implementing the foreign trade policy and responsibilities relating to multilateral and bilateral commercial relations, state trading, export promotion measures, and development and regulation of certain export oriented industries and commodities.
          • Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion: This department is responsible for formulation and implementation of promotional and developmental measures for growth of the industrial sector, keeping in view the national priorities and socio-economic objectives. Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion is also responsible for intellectual property rights relating to patents, designs, trademarks, and geographical indication of goods and oversees the initiative relating to their promotion and protection.
          • Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT): The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) is the agency of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India responsible for administering laws regarding foreign trade and foreign investment in India.
